SBA Offers Online Small Business Courses

The Small Business Administration is offering a collection of small business courses and other informational aides on its Website collectively called the "Small Business Training Network".

The Website heralds the feature as a "vitual campus" containing online courses, publications and other technical help.

The SBA describes the courses as "self-paced" adding that each takes approximately 30 minutes to complete.

The courses are split into seven subcategories including: finance and accounting, government contracting, business planning, surviving a slow economy, starting a business, marketing and advertising and business management.

Each subcategory in turn offers several courses in the subject area. For example, specific courses available in the financing and accounting category include "Finance Primer: Guide to SBA's Loan Guarantee Programs", "How to Prepare a Loan Package" and "Introduction to Accounting".

There are also small business videos and small business podcasts to peruse. A brief online registration is required before taking each course.
